Homework Policy

Homework is an integral part of the learning process. It provides students with the opportunity to practice skills learned in class, reinforces specific learning strategies, and helps to foster responsibility. All students are required to read at least 1 hour each day. Parents are strongly encouraged to read with their child every day. Please provide an area in your home away from the television, where your child can focus without interference. If your child is demonstrating difficulty with homework or is spending a long time completing assignments, please contact your child’s teacher.

Trust me. If they can’t read for one hour in elementary school, middle school is going to be tough. In middle school we have read way longer. (: So this is good practice for them (:
