PS 51 The Elias Howe School

Hello, I am Mrs. Djiounas, (some of you may know me as Ms. Fernandes). I currently teach third grade in room 425. I have been teaching at PS 51 for three years. I taught first grade the last two years before moving to third!
I moved to New York from Connecticut a few years ago. I attended University of Connecticut where I received a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Then I stayed there for another year to receive a masters in Elementary Education. I currently attend Fordham University, I am in a program called, Young Readers at Risk.
This past summer I got married back in Connecticut. I live in Manhattan with my husband. I enjoy reading, running, and cooking! This year I have been running several races with New York City Road Runners.
