I have been teaching at P.S. 51 for four years. I am currently the school’s math coach, math intervention teacher, 5th grade math teacher (for the 4/5 bridge class) and I also mentor new teachers.
I grew up in Rhode Island and attended both public and private schools. For college, I attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA (B.A. in Political Science) and for graduate school, I attended New York University (M.Ed. in Childhood Education). This past summer, I participated in the Math in the City program at City College, which was an intensive two-week mathematics professional development program. I also used tutor for the SAT’s through Kaplan.
At P.S. 51, I am a member of the Academic Intervention Team (AIT), the School-Based Inquiry Team (SBIT), and the Professional Development Team (PDT).
During my free time, I enjoy running (I ran in the 2007 New York Marathon).
