I currently teach the 4/5 bridge class at P.S. 51. I have been teaching in New York City for 7 years, and this is my 6th year at P.S. 51. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Health Education. I received my master’s degree in Elementary Education from Mercy College. Prior to moving to New York, I lived in St. Louis, MO, where I spent a semester as an ELL assistant. I grew up in St. Louis, MO, and have an older brother. My parents and my brother still live there. Now, I live in Manhattan with my husband. I like to visit my family as often as I can. In my free time I enjoy traveling, shopping, running and yoga. I ran the 2007 NYC marathon, and the 2008 NYC half-marathon.
I participate in many study groups and enjoy learning new techniques and philosophies for teaching the children. I really enjoy teaching at P.S. 51 because of the diversity of the students and their eagerness to learn.
